Q: What is infrared and what are the benefits?

A: Infrared light is part of the sun’s invisible spectrum of light that has the ability to penetrate the human tissue. Infrared heat heats the body directly rather than simply the air. The experience of an infrared treatment is similar to sunbathing, giving you that wonderful natural warmth. Unlike sunbathing, infrared heat therapy is completely healthy and safe. You can relax in an infrared sauna and it will never cause your skin to burn.

A: Yes, the options for booking out the spa sanctuary is reserving a private soaking and sauna session OR just reserving a private session in the infrared sauna. When on our wellness page you will see on the left is the option to just book the sauna and on the right is where you will reserve your space by booking the soaking tub and the sauna. Please note that the spa sanctuary is only open Thursday evenings, Fridays and weekends. If you are not seeing availability or time that is desired, please contact us!

Q: Do I have to have a membership to do yoga at Om Grown?

A: No, memberships are not required. Individuals may purchase drop in passes, multi-pack passes or an unlimited monthly pass. Go to omgyc.com to check out our schedule, register for a class or purchase a pass!

Q: How did you choose the name OmGrown Yoga Collective?

A: The name “OmGrown” is a play on words to indicate that our teachers are “home grown” - from the Baldwin area and trained by local renowned Bhakti yogi, Gopi Sandal. As a collective, we seek to bring together a like minded, but diverse teachers to meet people wherever they are. The studio seeks to honor our teacher and serve the community with Bhakti yoga.

We are not sure if our name will change with the new location and expanded wellness offerings, but likely we will retain “OmGrown” as part of it.

Come be a part of the Om Grown community!
